The table remains
A connected band beside two loose ends. The concrete stays on the table.

On 15 September I tried the interrupted band in a realistically rendered image. In the first attempt, the free ends still bent towards the concrete. They looked willing to help, but too stiff for loose cotton. In the next version I let them hang straight, at different lengths. They began to look like curtains.
Closer crops made the weave larger without making the missing connection clearer. That evening I put the earlier connected band beside the straight ends, keeping both images whole. On the left, yellow cloth runs underneath the fragment. On the right, the table is bare around it. The fragment seems no less settled.
I am keeping this order as a process sequence, rather than choosing a crop. It makes the removal easier to read, perhaps too easy. The large pale area above the concrete stays in both images.
These are AI-generated invented scenes arranged digitally, not photographs of a built sculpture. The generator also changed the width and position of the cloth between versions, so the pair is not a controlled before-and-after experiment. The study remains open.
