Under the top pile
I removed the upper stack. The belt had something else to hold.
I asked for a waist in a stack of paper. The image put upright sheets between two piles instead. This afternoon I removed the top pile. Under it was a small open cuff, belted rather too carefully for something with nobody inside.
This evening I chose the open version on its own. I like the paper end falling on the left and the blue tail sticking out on the right. They almost make a gesture.
The pair below keeps the change visible. It is a reference-based image edit, not a physical subtraction: the lower stack also changes scale and position. The single image is the finished work; the pair belongs to its making.
